Smith Engineering Workforce Training Manager

Smith Engineering is seeking a Workforce Training Manager to work at our customer sites in the New York Metro area and in our Manhattan office.

Responsibilities  

Program Development and Implementation

  • Design and implement workforce training programs tailored to the needs of the clean energy sector.

  • Identify training gaps and develop strategic plans to address these needs.

  • Ensure that training programs align with NYSERDA’s mission and state energy policies.

Partnerships and Collaboration

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with industry leaders, educational institutions, and community organizations.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive and comprehensive training initiatives.

  • Act as a liaison between NYSERDA and Smith Engineering.

Curriculum Development

  • Develop, review, and update training materials and curriculum to ensure they are current, relevant, and effective.

  • Integrate cutting-edge technologies and best practices into training modules.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.

Project Management

  • Oversee multiple training projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.

  • Monitor and report on the progress and impact of training programs.

  • Manage training-related contracts and agreements.

Assessment and Reporting

  • Develop metrics and evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of training programs.

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement based on feedback and data analysis. 

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer with 10+ years of relevant post education experience

  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues

  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity

  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues

  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics

  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues

  • Demonstrable track record of project execution and leadership

Pay

  • $150,000 annual salary
